  1. Initial ideas: True and False Emily Mitchell

  2. My Initial ideas: I have decided from initial ideas that I would like to create something very much like Would I lie to you which is a program on BBC1. the program involves a presenter and then six celebrities that read out a series of quotes which are either true or false and the other group has to come to a verdict whether they think it is real or not and depending on whether they are right or not are rewarded points accordingly.

  3. The program format • I want my program to be a hybrid of game show/chat show. Therefore even though they are participating in a game there is a lot of chitchat between and light hearted homer. • My aim is to have a nice balance between the two and make sure that neither homer or the game show swallows one another up. I want it to have a fluid pace and make sure that the jokes incorporated are not too off topic but instead lightly mocking one another etc. • Within the panels there are going to be one quite controversial type of celeb these people will be quite lightly mocked through out the program.

  4. Content ideas • Within the show I want there to be a series of Celebrities on each panel for example 3 on each panel and I like the idea of maybe having a sportsman, Comedian and maybe a new and up and coming singer or writer for example. • My presenter I would like to be male and quite qwerky, for example Jimmy Carr’s character works well because he has a dry sense of homer and he is quite edgy and modern and so fits for this kind of show very well. • Using music and colors on the set I want the set up for this program to feel friendly, bright and modern. This will help to make sure that I adopt that laid back light hearted scene.

  5. Ident’s • Just before the Ad break I thought it would be a good idea to place a Bumper in. • It will be a basic idea of the logo and I thought it could be placed in to a cartoon shaped speech bubble (cloud) • Id like it to be colourful and qwirky.

  6. Cast… • Presenter (Freddie) • Celebs on panel A: Lewis (Sportsman), Esme (Model – Lily Cole), Ollie (columnist in newspaper and features on news for debates ) • Celebs on Panel B: Aaron (Singer in upcoming band), Yian(left wing politician) and James (academic and well known publisher)

  7. Content of Show.... • My show is going to be 30 minutes long and split in to two fifteen minute sections. • Within the first section it will be covered who the presenter is and then who the celebrities are on that panel. Then moving on to the game and starting the first few rounds of ‘would I lie to you’ • Obviously I want to make my game slightly different to ‘Would I lie to you’... Therefore my idea is that instead of just reading out one statement and the other team choosing whether that's true or not instead they read out two quotes and the opposing team has to guess which one is the true quote and which one never happened. Once this has taken place points will be rewarded accordingly. • In the second section the game will be continued towards the last stretch of it (making sure that there is a good balance between game show and chat show.) I at no point want it to sound mechanical and like there is a script it needs to sounds as if it flows and actors will have a script that outlines what's said, but they can change the way they say these lines to make them sounds more fitting to them.

  8. Visual Style • When looking in to the visual style for my set up for the program I looked at loads of chat shows and their set ups and also game shows. I want my set to have a feel of both incorporated in to it. I definitely want it to be modern, but simple. • A lot of the game shows and chat shows that I saw used lots of bright colours on set and they all have this futuristic look to them. I want to carry the modern look through but I don't want to use lots of colour on set as i think it over complicates the image. • A simple lay out will be good for the set nothing over complicated or too artistic, leaving it simple will make sure that the audience is listening to what's going on, on set. • I’ve chosen White and Red for the two colour themes on the set as they are simple and not tacky or over complicated.

  9. Idea of how its going to be set up?? Presenter Panel 1 and 2 Camera 1 Camera 2 Camera 3 Camera 4 Camera 4 can turn round and give an image of the audience AUDIENCE Regarding the set up, it is going to have a very similar set up to most game shows. The presenter located in the middle and either panels are each side of the presenter. This way its neat and set out clear. I did experiment first with lots of different ways to set up ect, but it over complicated it. Keeping to this classic set up will be easier and more suitable for filming.

  10. Presentation Style. • Previously I have said that I like the idea of a Jimmy Carr sort of presenter, he’s modern and up to date, known for having quite a dry sense of homer and also known for his laugh. He is a good guide to use for my presenter as I'm aiming for something very similar. The speech I would like to be laid back. I don't want at any time to feel as if the presenter is reading from a worded script the point is its supposed to feel as if its just rolling and has a fast regular pace to it. • Jimmy Carr has that ‘Londoner’ image very dry sense of homer, talks fast and makes inappropriate jokes. Obviously in my program there cant be swearing and the jokes cant be in anyway disrespectful, but I would like to try and make sure that we introduce some of Jimmy Carr’s wittiness and cheekiness in to my program. • I looked at some clips of Jimmy Carr to try and understand and evaluate how he manages to let the program flow very well. • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6g3RmfTD4s • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwJS0Rh7--0

  11. Basic Script • Voice Over: ‘Hello Ladies and Gentleman to True and False, ease welcome your host Freddie Jones’. (Crowd cheers) • When presenter is coming on Music is played (well known song – moby) • Presenter: ‘Hello Ladies and Gents. Welcome to todays show. Id like to welcome our guests today on Panel A we have the lovely who has flown all the way from Paris today for the show’…. (carry’s introducing the rest of the celebs) • Presenter sits down • Presenter: ‘Lets get started with todays true and false starting with panel a Esme, Esme can you please read the two statements on the card in the envelope in front of you.’ • Esme: Picks up and opens the envelope and reads the statements quickly in her head and lightly laughs ‘ When I was 8 I made up a lie and said I was blind to try and get out of doing work in class’ ….
