  1. Towards a new SiLC • Basic idea: to relaunchSiLCas an ILD-oriented collaboration. Reduced scope but much focused goals: ILD silicon inner trackers (SIT & FTD) • Fostered by the Spanish Future Accelerator Network a preliminary draft of MoA drafted. • First round of contacts EU centers, active in the past, at SiLC: Barcelona, Karlsruhe, Paris, Prague, Santander, Valencia, Vienna. (Other groups are still missing) • So far, positive response of all the groups but Karlsruhe (no reaction) • ILD management timely informed of this effort I. Vila, WP9.4 AIDA meeting. June 16th 2011

The proposal in practice: • Most of the AIDA 9.4 members active part in the past of SiLC. • Connect SiLC activities with AIDA activities:have pre-meetings or post-meetings attached to AIDA's annual meetings. • In case we want to have two meetings per year connect it to one of the ILC international workshops. • Focus as much as possible our activities on the ILD, We should somehow convert the AIDA advanced deliverable in a SiLCdeliverable. The proposal in practice (2) • Move to a distributed organization chart with coordinators taking care of the activities and being accounted of them through a Technical Board. • Move to a scheme with two spokesmen, elected for a two year term and staged by one year. • Avoid the signature of formal agreements, the SiLCMoA should be a gentlemen´s agreement.   6. Bottom line • We need a “collaborative environment” for ILD’s inner silicon trackers effort. • There is a large –but not complete- overlap between AIDA’s WP9.4 & ILD goals/needs. Let´s profit from it. • This effort can be tagged under the SiLC label or as an AIDA for ILD “interest group”. This labeling is not going to change our position with respect to ILD collaboration (my personal appreciation). I. Vila, WP9.4 AIDA meeting. June 16th 2011
