Kinematics-Part II • Velocity: • -Explain how to calculate acceleration from a velocity-time graph. • -Show how to calculate instantaneous velocity and average velocity and show the difference between the two of them. • -Show on a velocity-time graph the following segments for an object moving at: • Constant velocity in the positive direction. • Speeding up in the positive direction. • Moving in the positive direction and slowing down. • Standing still • Moving with a negative velocity. • Acceleration: • Write down the average acceleration equation. • Name three things you could do to accelerate. • Explain how acceleration is different from velocity. If the ball starts from rest, what is the ball’s velocity after 3 seconds? • A glider starts from rest and accelerates for 45 seconds. The final speed of the glider is 103 m/s. Find the average acceleration of the glider. • How long does it take a truck to increase its speed by 20m/s if it has an acceleration of 2m/s2?
