  2. Act II Vocab • Procure: get; obtain • Predominant: having dominating influence over others • Intercession: act of pleading on another’s behalf • Sallow: sickly, pale-yellowish color • Lamentable: distressing; sad • Unwieldy: awkward; clumsy

  3. ALLUSION • Reference to a well-known person, place, event, literary work, or work of art

  4. HYPERBOLE • Deliberate exaggeration or overstatement

  5. SIMILE • Comparison between two unlike things using like, as, than, or resembles • Ex. Faster than a speeding bullet

  6. FORESHADOWING • Use of clues that suggest events that have yet to occur • Creates suspense

  7. BLANK VERSE • Iambic pentameter • Form of poetry • Does not rhyme • 10 syllables per line • Syllables follow an alternating unstressed-stressed pattern • Used for important characters
