  1. Akhilesh Srivastava – Implementing Robust Technology for Improved Highway Operations National Highways have time and time been considered as one of the most valuable assets of India. To propel this notion further, Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, CGM (IT and Highway Operations) of NHAI has been working to induce further changes in the highway operations sector by integrating the latest technology. These have paved the way for a better and a brighter future of the national highways across India. The Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) project, which recently became operational, has been ensuring a much smoother and transparent tax collections at the toll plazas. It has ensured to decrease the levels of traffic congestion at the toll plazas which is definitely an added bonus. Mr Akhilesh Srivastava was the one undertaking this projects and has successfully executed the same with flying colours. He has also mentioned that he is working to ensure that the every toll booth across the country at least has one lane dedicated to ETC. Speaking of integration of technology into the highway operations, Mr Srivastava is also working on introducing the concept of drones for the real-time monitoring of the ongoing highway projects. The implementation of this geospatial technology into the highway operations are expected to streamline the work process on the highways and induce transparency in the workflow as well. Owing to these contributions made by Mr Akhilesh Srivastava, he was recently awarded with the Achievement Award in the Public Officer category at the 10th Vishwakarma Awards, conducted by CIDC. Mr Akhilesh Srivastava is also going to be attending the 4th Annual Roads and Highways summit hosted by the International Road Federation of Geneva. The event is going to be conducted at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel in Singapore from April 09th – April 11th 2018. He is going to be addressing the crowd of distinguished officers from the construction industry from around the globe on two topics – OBOR (One Belt One Road) and Highway Modernisation for Better Effectiveness and Sustainability. #AkhileshSrivastava #Drones #ETC
