Joe (not his real name) had both his hands Amputated • I earn my living and support my family through backyard gardening, using artificial limbs • I suffer severe pains and the inability to lift and carry objects • Handicap International provided the artificial limbs I now use to earn a living. • At first, I was ashamed to use the artificial limbs but with proper counselling I tried the limbs and now I think I can ‘use the hands’ again. • I like using the limbs mainly while at work in my garden.
