  2. Background • .th is deligated to AIT in July 1988 • First domain deligated under .th is ait.th, chula.th, psu.th • In 1991 .th domain name deligation is done under second-level domains • .ac.th, .co.th, .or.th, .go.th • 1992 hand on .th administration to Chulalongkorn University.

THNIC Background • 1994: Thailand Network Information Center (THNIC) is set up by AIT and Chulalongkorn University to administrate .th domain • 1988-1999: Domain name registration under .th is free of charge • In March 1999 T.H.NIC Co., Ltd. is established to handle registration including billing and DNS. • THNIC become a policy planner for .th • In May 2002 Thai Name Server Co., Ltd. is established to be registry of .th • T.H.NIC Co., Ltd. become the first registrar for .th
