  2. What is a habitat? The area or environment where an organism or ecological community normally lives or occurs The place where a person or thing is most likely to be found • This slide show will show you images of local creatures in their natural habitats around Franklin County. • Please notice that if you click in the white box in the top LEFT hand corner of each slide, you may watch the creatures in action. • If you click at the bottom RIGHT hand corner beside the picture of the man, you may hear sounds that relate to the creatures. • At the end of the show, click on ONE link and complete the activity.

  3. Running Horses Horses live in grassy areas, eat grass and hay and love to run.

  4. Birds Eating Birds nest in trees, fly from place to place and eat insects and/or meat.

  5. Fish Swimming Fish live in ponds and streams and eat insects.

  6. Butterfly Butterflies are colorful, eat nectar, and love flower bushes.

  7. Turtles and frogs live on land and in water and eat bugs. Turtle

  8. Squirrel Squirrels make nests in trees and eat bugs and nuts.
