Border Issues Committee Issue is brought to the Commission by Governor, Board of Directors, Binational Committees, AMC Members Issue is referred to Border Issues Committee for Vetting in community forums Issue is referred to appropriate entity for action (Governor, AMC Board of Directors, Binational Committees)

Strategic Issues for June 2007 Plenary • Border Security (Emergency Management): • Enhance communication and the use of technology to make the Arizona-Sonora region more secure and able to quickly respond in times of emergencies. • Expanding Trade for Arizona (Agribusiness, Tourism, Transportation): • Improve and coordinate our infrastructure needs and utilize technology to increase efficiency and effectiveness. • Regional Economic Development (Economic Development, Finance, Business and Legal Services, Real Estate): • Develop a regional marketing plan to attract business to the Arizona-Sonora region. • Quality of Life (Education, Health Services, Environment, Water): • Improve the border region's focus on healthy and sustainable lifestyles for future generations. • Culturally Enrich the Arizona-Sonora region (Art and Culture, Sports): • Institutionalize cultural and sports exchanges that promote healthy and culturally enriched lifestyles.
