  2. shambles Part of Speech: noun Definition: a place or state in which there is great confusion, disorder, or destruction Her actions left her family in shambles.

  3. ingenuous Part of Speech: adjective Definition: very smart or clever The book has an ingenious plot.

  4. gallant Part of Speech: adjective Definition: showing courage; very brave The new student had a very gallant personality as he approached his new peers.

  5. invective Part of Speech: adjective Definition: of, relating to, or characterized by insult or abuse He gave out invective remarks toward an unlucky friend.

  6. contemporary Part of Speech: adjective Definition: happening or beginning now or in recent times The new house on our street was very contemporary.

  7. rudiments Part of Speech: noun Definition: something unformed or undeveloped They began to put together the rudiments of the plan.
