Wire Line Switch What is Pay Phone? • Fee based public telecommunications service for completed subscriber calls • Answer Supervision used as the simple indicator of called party answer at the beginning of a call in the forms of: • Reverse Battery: via signaled Line Control • Tones: via signaled Meter Pulses of 50 Hz, 600 Hz, 12 KHz or 16 KHz & In-Band DTMF Class Tones • Signal Sequence Transitions: via signaled Tone Signals Ring Back Tone to Tones Off • Metering used at the beginning & throughout the duration of a call to drive fixed or variable charges associated with pay phone originated calls using: • Tones: via signaled Meter Pulses of 50 Hz, 600 Hz, 12 KHz or 16 KHz Local Loop Pay Phone RJ-11 Pay Phone Pay Phone
