  1. Ephesians 6:10-20 Dingwall Baptist ChurchSunday 18th August 2019 Living in His Strength

  2. But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people. (Ephesians 5:3)

  3. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming… (Ephesians 4:14) And there is danger not only that this trade of ours may come into disrepute but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis will be scorned, and she will be deprived of her majesty that brought all Asia and the world to worship her.” (Acts 19:23-27)

  4. Living Under Attack But, a healthy interest in such things would suggest that we must accept that there are evil forces at work, behind the scenes of what goes on in this world, to some degree or other. (C.S. Lewis: The Screwtape Letters)

  5. Putting on the full armour Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, (Ephesians 6:14a) “It isn’t true because it works; it works because it is true” (Tom Wright)

  6. …with the breastplate of righteousness in place, (Ephesians 6:14b) …and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. (Ephesians 6:15)

  7. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit… (Ephesians 2:14-18)

  8. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. (Ephesians 6:16) Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you…. (Romans 12:3)

  9. Take the helmet of salvation and… (Ephesians 6:17a) The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God… (Ephesians 6:17b)

  10. “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” (Luke 10:18) The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil… (1 John 3:8) When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public display of them, having triumphed over them through Him… (Colossians 2:15)

  11. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should…

  12. Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love… (Ephesians 6:23-24)
