  1. ART II – Final Exam

  2. Illustration/ taking risks • PART I Select one of the songs given to you and plan to make an illustration of it. LISTEN TO THE SONG, READ THE LYRICS.. These songs have obvious titles with obvious imagery… Make your images unique, original and subtle. For example- the song “Blackbird” you can have no bird references at all… no blackbirds, beaks, shadows of birds, hands in the shape of birds making shadows, etc..

  3. “Landslide”- you can have no references to landslides, mountains, or snow. • “hearts and bones”- no hearts , no bones, no couple walking down a road, no map of Mexico, no mountains… no road off into the distances, and no rainbows…

  4. PART II Using visual references (magazines, photographs, google images, etc. ) you will come up with an original image that illustrates your interpretation of the song.. You choose the materials this time.. Anything is fair game.

  5. PART III • Your image will start with you developing some sort of risk taking with material… I WILL EXPLAIN.

  6. Work must be original Your grade will be contingent on strength of the image… Is it original? Is it unique? Is the perspective challenging? Is it subtle? Does it make me look longer ?

  7. Oh yeah, and all those other things count too.. Craftsmanship, presentation, etc..
