  1. Draw it to say it - DITSI A mash up for AOL Web AIM Mashup Competition by FMX

  2. The Concept is a Mash up of WEB AIM api and JAVA APPLETS with simple draw functions. Both are combined in a Web page to yield a never before used online method of expressing oneself. • “A picture is worth a thousand words “ , one can very well imagine the impact of a dynamic picture . In this mash Up , the Web page consists of a simple Instant messenger type interface with an added drawing space for both the users to do Instant chat as well as draw on each other’s chosen pictures.

  3. Start up page • It consists of the Instant messenger like webpage where the user logs in. Here he gets all the usual info as which of them are online , idle or away . • The DITSI draw pads are empty as no pic has still been choosen as the background. • The user can invite any one of his buddies for a DITSI chat ( more than one not preferable due to space constraints in a web page). • The users’ status while in a DITSI chat is shown as “busy in DITSI” or something similar. so that other buddies can know. In case, one of the buddy invites him for DITSI , there is a pop-up dialogue to accept it and end the current DITSI session and launch a new one with the new buddy.

  4. DITSI proceedings- The users select the picture to be displayed in their ditsi pad which can be- • giving the URL of the picture available online. • Selecting one of the pictures from his profile. • Selecting from other sources like Flickr. • Not selecting a pic at all, using the background as the canvas. The user can select the mode of DITSI- • Self - User can draw only on his pad. • Mutual- both chatting buddies can draw on both the pads. • The users chat as well as DITSI simultaneously , which gives a feel better than smileys,Audibles and emoticons.

  7. Numerous others… • A tic-tac-toe game. • Discussion of rough idea of a logo design. • A mother teaching her kindergarden kid ( sitting with babysitter obviously) “how to write A,B,C”. • A picture and symbols guessing game. • Infinite other interactions………

THE DITSI PAD : • It consists of JAVA Applet ( Adobe Flash can also be used as used in AIM FIGHT mash up onaimfight.com ) which has some simple Button supported draw functions. • brush draw • fine pencil draw • eraser • clear all • Additional features like bucket fill and a simple color pallete can also be used. • A feature for writing text on images can also be added using “drawString” function . • the users chat as well as draw on the pads to express themselves. • The user can locally save the DITSI image locally for as his “sweet memories”.
