  2. Facility budgeting for Capital Costs and Ongoing operations • Driven by RCRA and Title V • L.C. Waste Management Division Vision • 1993-94 Budget year, set aside $200,000 for Construction of Permanent Facility

  3. History of Collection Events • 1986-First HHW Collection Event (140 cars) • 1990 Semi-Annual Collections (May and November) • 1992-First Conditionally Exempt Generator Collection Event (CEG)* • 1993 Started Budgeting for a Permanent Facility

  4. Building Permanent HHW Facility • Architectural Design-35,000 • Building Construction-$220,000 • Design, Operational and Safety Plan Approval by the Oregon DEQ • Opened Permanent Facility in July 1998 • DEQ Grant-$23,000 for Capital Expenses • Paint Crusher • Drums, Totes, Carts

  5. Current Operations and Staff • Operation Days: Every Thursday and the Second Saturday of the Month • By appointment Only • Currently Three Employees, Fourth to be added Fiscal Year 2003-2004 • 5-6 Mobile Collection Event per Year

  6. DEQ Grants and Other Funding • Grant for $23,000.00 for capital purchases • Waste Management Division Funded Solely by Disposal Fees • Annual Budget for Operations and Disposal • Add line for Capital Expenses (forklift, Etc.) • Change in DEQ Strategy for Funding
