Some definitions • Evaluation: • a periodic assessment of the relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact, economic and financial viability, and sustainability of a project in the context of its stated objectives • Process evaluation – ongoing • “Did you do what you set out to do, and can this be measured?”

  7. Evaluation and the Project cycle This is the last stage. It follows the final disbursement of funds for the project. An independent department … reviews the current report ….. and prepares its own assessment of the project, often by reviewing materials….. This ex-post evaluation provides lessons of experiences which are used in subsequent identification, preparation or appraisal work.”
