  1. Current Sensors and Meters Multi-Parameter Probes Directional Sea-State Probes Customized Solutions Complete Systems Analog Current Sensors ISM-2001 S-2001 compact S-2001 compact with Battery Package S-2001 midi Modular System Series 2001

  2. Current Sensors and Meters Multi-Parameter Probes Directional Sea-State Probes Customized Solutions Complete Systems Main objects Meeting customers demands with products and services concerning measurements in all kinds of water due to a small and flexible acting enterprise Products EM current sensors and modular smart instruments based on it as well as on selected sensors from all over the world Services Project studies, field services, data post-processing

  3. EM Current Sensor Basics The disk sensor generates an alternating magnetic field in its environment. Free charge carriers in the water pass this magnetic field near the sensor and are separated by Lorentz’s force F=q(vxB). This occurs until a balance to the electro-static attraction of the separated charges F=qE is established. The result is an electric field E=vxB. With two orthogonal electrode pairs voltages are picked up herein. The linearity between the flow velocity and the measured voltage is ensured by internal electronics.

  4. Current Sensors ISM-2001F and ISM-2001C Rugged EM current sensor with analog outputs at an affordable price Two-axis current measurements even under adverse conditions like near the sea bed or in multiphase streams (with air bubbles or suspended sediments) Stable offsets and scales Easy integration into larger probes or measuring networks Compass (two-axis magnetometer) available Two housing versions: ISM-2001F fits to the flange of larger probes like S-2001 midi, and ISM-2001C has an underwater mate-able Micro-WetCon connector (other connectors available)

  5. Multi-Parameter Probes S-2001 • Two housings: Midi and Compact • Broad spectrum of applications • Modular system • Variable sensor equipment • Internal battery package or external supply • Combination of fast processor and intelligent power management • Direct reading and internal memory • Set-up and data retrieval via serial interface with PC or hand-held terminal

  6. S-2001 Sensors • EM current sensor • Compass (2 and 3 axes) • Pressure • Temperature • Conductivity • pH • ORP • D.O. partial pressure • Turbidity

  7. Board Units and Data Logger MDL1 Small (120x80x55mm³) robust computer in a water protected case intended for autonomous data logging in adverse environments Term2001 Handy computer with keyboard, LCD and battery pack to operate probes like S-2001 and ISM-2001 under harsh conditions

  8. Applications • Case with a complete measuring set: • Multi-parameter probe S-2001 • Board unit Term2001 • 10m cable • Accessories • Measuring equipment: • Current meter S-2001 • Board unit Term2001 • 50m cabel on a handy slip-ring drum

  9. Applications:Coastal Measuring Network of the State of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania

  10. Applications Profiling measurements with a remote operated vessel (eta AG, Germany) S-2001midi with several sensors (CTD, turbidity, D.O., pH, ORP) Long-term deployment of current meters in a cold-water coral field in the North Atlantic at 900m depth (University of Bremen, Germany and IFREMER, France)
