  2. NuncDimittis • Luke 2:25-35 (p.781) • Simeon is righteous and devout, led by the Spirit. • Simeon is waiting for the Rescue. • The true rescue – from death, sin, Satan • The baby would reveal the heart. • Simeon had to wait his whole life to see Jesus.

  3. Second Advent • Advent is about waiting. • “Advent” = “the time before” – the King is coming! • First advent – waiting for the Messiah. • Second advent – waiting for the Rescue to be complete.

  4. Waiting and Working • God grows us while we wait for His perfect timing. • Work for His Kingdom as you wait. • Matt 24-25: Know His teachings (24:4-5, 26); Be ready to suffer (24:9-14); Keep watch for Jesus (24:42; 25:1-13); Be working as the Master told you (24:45-51); Invest in the Kingdom and work hard (25:14-30); Help the least of these (25:31-46). • God will grow you as you work and wait.
