  5. Activities During 2002-2003 Contents of Applied Mechatronics Course Review of basic electronic devices. Digital electronic components and their application. Data acquisition. Introduction to micro-controllers Adapt 11 Board (68HC11). Sensors (Conventional/ MEMS). Actuators. Hands on experience with above referred devices/components. Group project on mechatronics system integration.

  7. Activities During 2002-2003 Contents of MDO Course Introduction to Multidisciplinary Design Optimization (MDO). Coupled systems. Classification of MDO problem formulations. MDO architectures based on these concepts. Concurrent subspace optimization, collaborative optimization and BLISS. Sensitivity analysis in MDO. Approximation concepts and surrogate modelling. Software and IT issues in MDO. MDO frameworks.

Activities During 2002-2003 IMSL & Infrastructure • IMSL is a repository of Software & Hardware tools for carrying out component/system level modelling, simulation & integration studies. • Sensors, actuators, micro-controllers are regularly procured for supporting on-going student projects. • A number of in-house and external activities are taken up in the broad area of system simulation.
