  8. Academic Information • Candidature • Min: 3 Years • Max: 5 Years (> 5 yrs - No more tut grant, pay full fees ~$14K per sem) • Minimum grade to score “C” from the beginning • In general, 30 or 40% for CA/Quiz/Assignments and 60 or 70% for Exam

  9. Academic Information Note: You need to obtain CGPA >=4.5 and FYP >=A- to be awarded 1st Class Honours

  10. Academic Information • Academic Warnings • 1st time CGPA < 2.0: Academic Warning • 2nd time CGPA < 2.0: Academic Probation • 3rd time CGPA < 2.0: Academic Termination • You need to obtain a CGPA >= 2.0 in order to graduate

Academic Information • Industrial Attachment (IA) or Industrial Orientation (IO) is either “Satisfactory (S)” or “Unsatisfactory (U)” grade • General Prescribed Electives (GE) - HSS, BM, STS, etc. courses – 3 chances changing courses to Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) • $700 ~ $1400 (Subsidized rate) per course • Special Term 1 & 2: • General Electives or Unrestricted Electives

  12. Academic Information • Borrow/Buy textbooks or reference books • Search on YouTube and Internet for related topics • Do past year exam papers • Approach Mentors if you have academic, personal, etc. issues • Short Term Leave • Apply 1 Week in advance • Festivals & Activities (Disallowed)

  13. Academic Information • Exempted Subjects • Lecture Recording • Lecture Notes • Add/Drop Period (12 Aug to 25 Aug 2013) • Plan Timetable wisely • Attend all lectures & tutorials (Do not rely on lecture recordings) • Attend all CAs, Quizzes, projects, etc.

  14. Academic Information • Short Term Leave – During Semester • Download Term Leave form (EEE Academic Services) • Submit 7 working days in advance • Festivals (Eg. Chinese New Year and Hari Raya ) • Activities organized by student bodies (Disallowed) • Leave of Absence (LOA) – Whole Semester • Personal / Medical • Download LOA form (NTU Admin Services) • Supporting documents required

Academic Information • Medical Leave • Download Medical Form (EEE Academic Services) • Submit within 7 working days • Given “0” mark for quiz/test, etc. • Missed Lab/Project, arrange makeup session with UPO • Exam Leave • Medical Certificate (MC) Submission online • Submit within 24 hours • Print Online MC Online Form and submit with MC document • Office of Academic Services – Student Service Centre
