Agenda/Topics To Be Covered The students will explain how schools and mass media influenced American culture in the 1920’s by identifying contributors to American pop culture in the 1920’s Announcement: Chapter 13 Test Next Tuesday Due: Chapter 13 Vocabulary due today Drill: Read the excerpt from Sinclair Lewis’s Babbitt on page 468 and answer the following 1. What tone does Lewis use to describe Babbitt? 2. What conclusions can you draw about Babbitt’s character from the excerpt? Motivation: What kinds of people do you consider heroes? Why do you admire these people?

  8. Homework 1. Read Chapter 13 Section 4 and prepare for 5 question quiz
