  8. Applicant Proposed Conditions • Modify Existing Condition 9 to remove the hours of operation and encourage use of best management practices and Dark Sky standards • Delete Condition 10

  9. Staff Recommended Condition 9 • The hours of use for outdoor lighting that is associated with existing or proposed sports facilities or new parking facilities shall be limited to 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, except during football and soccer games the lights shall be allowed to remain on until 11:00 PM on the existing field. In order to reduce impacts on surrounding uses, any lighting for sports facilities or parking areas shall utilize flat glass lenses, house side shields, and ‘NEMA’ type II, III, or IV reflectors. The illumination levels at any point on the property line next to a residential area shall not exceed 0.5 footcandles. A photometric lighting plan, including specifications for fixtures, shall be required as part of any development plan.

  10. Staff Recommended Condition 10 • The installation of new outdoor lighting on the site shall be limited to the proposed faculty parking lot near the southern boundary of the property, the pre-existing field at the northwest corner of the site, the existing baseball field, the new soccer field, and the four new tennis courts that are located farthest from the property line. New outdoor lighting for parking areas shall meet the requirements of Chapter 407, Article 2, Parking. New outdoor lighting for new athletic areas shall meet the requirements of Chapter 407, Article 7, Educational Facilities. Lighting for the existing field at the northwest corner of the site shall be consistent with the photometric plan submitted with application ZOS-07-11.
