  3. Secret Camps • Camp X, near Whitby • Training spot for spies, secret agents & sabotage experts • Creator of James Bond trained here • Station M – forgers, safecrackers, chemists, movie set designers provided false identities

  4. Secret Agents • 28 Canadians sent to battle, 8 died • No one really knows what they did • Ideas: organized sabotage, blew up trains • Parachuted into Nazi territory

  5. Merchant Navy • Can. Had 4th largest in world • 12,000 men transported cargo & soldiers • Civilians, not official sailors • 1 in 8 died, including 8 women
