  3. Brève présentation de l’album • Cet album est sorti le 5 octobre 1979 et a été • produit par le groupe et Nigel Gray. • Il se place à la première place des charts • britanniques et arrive la 25e place du Billboard 200.

Sting (Gordon Sumner) • Son surnom de « sting » lui est donné en 1972Parcequ’ il portait • un pull noir à rayures jaunes (ressemblant a une abeille) sur scène. • Né le 2 octobre 1951 à Wallsend (près de Newcastle), Angleterre. • Dès son plus jeune âge, encouragé par sa mère, sting découvre • la musique • surtout à travers la guitare mais aussi le piano, la mandoline, • le saxophone, l'harmonica et la flûte de Pan. • En 1977, le groupe “The Police” se forme: initialement composé de Sting, Stewart Copeland et Henry Padovani.

  6. Henry Padovani est remplacé par Andy Summers. • Sting lance sa carière solo en 1985. • Le groupe se reforme en 2007 pour entamer une tournée mondiale.

Origine de l’oeuvre • Sting a publiquement annoncé dans une interview que la chanson lui était venue lorsequ’il était ivre. • I was drunk in a hotel room in Munich, slumped on the bed with the whirling pit when this riff came into my head. I got up and starting walking round the room singing : 'Walking round the room, walking round the room'. That was all. In the cool light of morning I remembered what had happened and I wrote the riff down. But 'Walking round the room' was a stupid title so I thought of something even more stupid which was 'Walking on the moon.'

  8. La Chanson était partiellement lié a son ex petite amie: Deborah Anderson was my first real girlfriend...walking back from Deborah's house in those early days would eventually become a song, for being in love is to be relieved of gravity.
