  2. Course synopsis The course is designed to develop students’ spoken and written communication skills which are vital in helping them to enter the job market and preparing them for workplace. Students are taught language skills and communication strategies to enable them to receive and deliver spoken and written messages effectively. They will gain practical experiences through activities and assignments necessary for job search, presentations, business correspondence, and meetings. Students will have opportunities to participate in the learning processes during class interactions and feedback, video analysis, and small group discussions.

  5. Collaboration rubrics Students are required to fill in the collaboration rubrics form for each assessment that involves working with others, either in pairs or team. You may email me the form to the following address aloesnita@ump.edu.my

  6. Reflection Reflection is important because it provides opportunity for us to sit back and review ourselves. This practice allows us to improve. Indirectly we will grow as a better individual. Create a page entitled ‘Reflection’ in your wikispaces. Every week, you must write something in this page until the end of the semester.

  7. Skype I also you skype in this course. For those who do not have the skype account yet, please register now.

  8. Learning Contract Promises students made about their learning. 1) Download the Learning Contract from my wikispaces at the ‘Overview’ page. 2) Fill in the form. 3) Create a page entitled ‘Learning Contract’ in your Wikispacesand then upload the completed form Into the page.

  9. PAIRWORK ACTIVITY Student A has the information that Student B does not, and vice-versa. 1) Complete the sheet through Skype text chat. 2) Save the discussion in Microsoft word. 3) Create a page entitled ‘Chat 18 Feb 2013’. 4) Upload the Microsoft word in that page. * Each student needs to upload the document individually.
