  2. Literacy A Lady of Leters is a dramatic monollogue by Alan Bennett. In it, we here from a lady called Irene Ruddock whose mother died a number of year’s ago. She now lives alone and Appears to be very isolated and unhappy. As the monologue develops, we see that her habit of writing letters of complaint swiftley develops into spiteful harrasment.
