  13. Rotaract in my Life • I am Customer Development Audit Manager. Responsible for Asia , Africa , Middle East & Turkey. Unilever PLC. • I considered Rotaract as my second home which helped me much in my life & career. • In Rotaract: I got to know different people who contributed in building my personality ,I got to know my lifetime friends whom I cherish much. • My first presentation in front of audience took place in Rotaract which was one of the reasons of my acceptance in my first interview in Unilever. • Working with people of different nationalities , backgrounds & cultures was an edge for me when compared to my colleagues & the reason is Rotaract. • My communication skills were sharpened after being president of Rotaract Cosmopolitan. • Understanding how leadership would be was clearly illustrated to me when I joined Rotaract. In addition to watching great presidents in Rotaract & Rotary .I assume my experience as a president in RAC cosmopolitan as a lifetime experience. In Summary , I am Very Proud that I was A Rotaractor one day. My years in Rotaract will be forever engraved in my heart.

  14. Mohamed El Ashmawy

  15. My name is Mohamed El-Ashmawy (Past president Alexandria West). I'm 31 years old, married. I'm Export & Import director in Aluminium Al-Ahram Cookware Company.

  16. What means Rotaract for me? • My first meeting was in December 1994. In that time I was in Sanaweia 3ama – nezam adim . • I really feel that I was lucky to be a part of the Rotaract community in that time because we just were 3 clubs in Alexandria. So I was there witnessing the birth of Alex clubs one by one. • Week by week , meeting by meeting , outing by outing – Rotaract became my home, • my community , It was really my life – We always made big efforts in the Rotaract to serve • our community. When I remember now my old days in the Rotaract I feel that we were • soldiers. • What I did learn from Rotaract: 1- How to be patient ( 2 years as a guest ) 2- How to work in a team; you would never have this experience if you are not a Rotaractor. 3- How to learn respecting the other points of view. 4- How to be leader. 5- How to promote yourself ,your ideas and your projects 6- How to help people without waiting anything in return. 7- How to be satisfied when you just draw a smile on an orphan’s face. 8- How to make friends that you can really count on them.

  17. After all these skills that I got it for free without any training courses , just because I was in the Rotaract , the right place to build your character , your personality. So you can now imagine why I'm an export & Import director because of the rotaract. Because in my club and in this community I learn how to build myself. • Finally, when I want to marry, also I learn that my girl must be from • Rotaract. For that I chose Riham Sobhi to share with me my life as she share with • me the Rotaract. • So never choose a wife if she is not in the rotaract • ….hahahahaha

  20. Wonderful timessssssssss

  21. Rotaract Life: • I was referred to the Rotaract Club of Alexandria Cosmopolitan in late 1998 by past president Ahmed Ismail who was my colleague in CIB bank at that time. I was finally selected as a member in the club after almost 1 year, i.e. late 1999. It was my honour to join the club since that time and enjoy the continuous and collective work with both RC and RAC Cosmopolitan that resulted in positioning our club on the top of Egypt's / district's club. • On 2002, I was selected as the club's treasures, then Vice President in the year 2003 and club President in the year 2004. • Leading a club like Alex Cosmo was a great opportunity to add to my leadership capabilities, general knowledge and understanding to local and international issues, public work and community service activities. It also contributed to my personal relationships with public figures and businessmen in addition to hundreds of rotaractors around the district. • Such exposure helped me in my professional career path, especially that I am working in a multinational institution, to better understand my colleagues, customers and managers , and to better lead my subordinates towards achieving our organizational goals smoothly & collectively and of course to better communicate and understand our customers' different needs  .

  22. Georges Antaki

  23. Rotaract Experience: • Rotaractor from 1992 to 2004. • President of RAC Kesrouan 1998-1999. • DRR in 2002-2003 • “Accept the Rotaract Challenge” led the District to reach 2,000 members. • Interactive website to promote the projects of the District. • Egyptian Clubs were the most active in the District. • During the Rotaract Conference of 2005, he launched the idea of a Rotary Club based on professional Past-Rotaractors in Lebanon: “Rotary Club Greater Beirut”. • He was disillusioned from the attitude of many Rotarians in Lebanon and preferred to leave Rotary in 2007.

  24. Professional Experience: • Managing Partner of one of the major Software Companies in Lebanon: Netiks International sal. • Netiks is a contraction of the words “NET” and “ETHICS”. • His company is formed of 40 employees and sells software in Lebanon, Europe and the Gulf region. • He is one of the members of the Lebanese Businessmen League, a very selective and powerful association that promotes the private sector in Lebanon. • How did Rotaract help me in my professional experience? • When elected, true Leaders use their skills at the benefit of the District. • On the other side, the bad Leaders use their position to serve their personal ambitions. • Rotaract is a way of life.

  25. “At work, I am applying the Rotaract committees goals in my daily managerial life”:

  26. Remember • THERE ARE NO SPECIAL ROTARACTORS. • THERE ARE SPECIAL COMMITMENTS. • THERE ARE NOT MORE OR LESS TALENTED ROTARACTORS. • THERE ARE MORE OR LESS COMMITTED ONES.

  27. Rotaract Image • Are we on the right track? • Are you Proud to be a Rotaractor? • No??!!! WHY??? • Solution?

  28. Reviving the RotaractTrue Image back • Keeping discipline. • Respect each other. • Feel the responsibility of being a Rotaractor. • Keep the good image & learn how to be presentable. • Be Proud that you are a Rotaractor.

  29. When you are aiming for a position (Head of Committee, President, VDRR or DRR…), ask not what this position can do for you, but ask what you can do for your club or for the District. John, F. Kennedy’s rule also applies in Rotaract. Leaders should be elected based on a clear and public program, not based on their fellowship with their electors or on their religious beliefs. Rotary’s slogan is “Service above Self”. For several reasons, it seems that “Self” is widespread over the “Service”. I am confident that in the near future, in Rotaract and Rotary, SERVICE ABOVE SELF will always prevail on what seems to be today SELF ABOVE SERVICE.

  30. Principles “Correct principles are like compasses; they are always pointing the way. and if we know how to read them, we won’t get lost, confused, or fooled by conflicting voices and values. Principles are self-evident, self validating natural laws. They don’t change or shift. They provide true north direction to our lives when navigating the streams of our environments.’’ Stephen R. Covey Principle Centered Leadership

  31. Finally I wish you the best … start thinking and ACT To change up to the standard of being a ROTARACTOR
