Tips for Glazing. Only put one color at a time on your palette. If you have extra in your palette when done, put it back in the jar. When in doubt, add another coat. If you don’t finish 3 coats today, write down the name of your glaze on your house in pencil-lightly.

  1. Tips for Glazing Only put one color at a time on your palette. If you have extra in your palette when done, put it back in the jar. When in doubt, add another coat. If you don’t finish 3 coats today, write down the name of your glaze on your house in pencil-lightly. Wash out brush in between colors. Pull your brush towards you or downwards. Don’t mix glazes. Use masking tape-it is your friend. Wash your hands when you’re done.

  2. Glaze is liquid glass. Glaze is not paint. Bisqueware must be clean, otherwise glaze won’t stick. You need 3 coats of glaze. Glaze wipes off with water. Do not eat or drink around glaze, it is toxic. Glaze changes color and gets shiny in the kiln. The kiln will be fired to 1830 F. Do not put glaze on the underneath side of your house. Use masking tape to glaze in straight lines and to keep it off of other parts. Glaze and gravity
