  3. Middle School Philosophy • Interdisciplinary Teaming • 7 Period Day: 5 Cores and 2 Related Arts • OMLA/NMSA resources, research, and recognition • Student-centered structure and instruction

  4. EXPECTATIONS • Safe and orderly environment • Rules and consequences • AAA Attendance: Be here and on time! Achievement: Learn and apply!!! Attitude: Golden Rule!!!!!!

  5. Dress Code… • Teachers will check students each day in first period. • If students are in violation of dress code- they will be sent to office to change, call home for clothes and for repeat offenders- disciplinary action • Shirts: • Both shoulders must be covered • No spaghetti strap tanks • No bra straps showing • NO LOW CUT tops (from both standing and sitting perspectives) • If a student covers with a sweatshirt- teachers will inform the rest of the team that the student should remain wearing the sweatshirt for the day. • Bottoms: • NO SPANDEX pants or LEGGINGS • NO tube skirts • Shorts must cover student appropriately and not be too tight. • Holes in Pants: • Must not be in places shorts do not cover. • If the pants are shredded, a distraction or a safety hazard- Students must change or be sent to the office for new pants.

  6. Drop Off and Pick Up Parents who drop off students at school will need to use the turnaround in the back of the building. Pick up should occur in the north parking lot to avoid bus traffic.

  7. Quarterly Recognition—Stand up and be recognized!!! • Honor Roll: 3.5-3.74 gpa • Principal’s List: 3.75-4.0 gpa • Quarterly Awards Assembly • 11/11, 1/27 and 4/2 (8:00- 9:30) • End of the Year Awards: • Scholar Athletes, Most Improved, Related Arts Notables • Notes, emails and phone calls home.

  9. Extra-curriculars:Get Involved!! Clubs/Groups : Yearbook, Archery, Student Council, Optimist Oratorical Interscholastic Athletics: Fall: cross country, football, volleyball, cheerleading Winter: basketball, wrestling, cheerleading Spring: track
