Description and how long they can grow and the usual place you would find them. • They have huge tails, and powerful jaws and a toothy grin that few people would trust. • They can grow up to 13 to 17 feet long. • The usual places you would find them is southeastern United States, and northeastern Mexico.

  3. Their habitat, their neighbors, and where they live. • Their habitats are freshwater lakes, rivers, and marshes. • Some of their neighbors are rattlesnakes, red eared sliders, and herons. • Some alligators live in swamps, lakes, and slow moving rivers.

  4. behavior • Alligators usually mate during the spring. • She lays 20 to 60 white eggs at a time in the nest. • The eggs hatch after about 65 days.

  5. Physical features and their life cycle • Male American alligators measure about 11 feet[ 3.4 meters] in length on average. • The Chinese alligator normally grow to length of about 5 feet [1.5 meters]. • Alligators can live about 50 years in their lives.
