  1. How to Set Up the Portable Class Capture Cart – Health Sciences Campus Beth Pfeiffer, Ph.D., OTR/L, BCP Tom Fanrak Kendra Newman

  2. Step One Plug the electrical cords into an outlet.

  3. Step Two Plug in the Ethernet cable to the red Ethernet outlet in the room. (There must be an Ethernet outlet in order to use the Portable Class Capture device.)

  4. Step Three Plug and screw the blue cable into the laptop to connect the device and the laptop.

  5. Step Four Interface the computer and the Class Capture device. If it is a Dell laptop, hit the FN (function) or control key and F8 key simultaneously.

  6. Step Four continued You should see the picture below to confirm that the computer and device are successfully interfaced.

  7. Congratulations! You have successfully set up the Class Capture Cart!

  8. Tips to Ensure a Successful Recording Set up the cart prior to the scheduled recording start time (this is typically 10 minutes before the start of the class). When possible, keep the cart plugged in (especially to the Ethernet) for 1 hour after the recording ends to ensure that the recording gets processed correctly.
