Drawing conclusions means taking small pieces of information, or details, about a character or story event and using them to make a statement about that character or event. The conclusion may not be stated in the text but should be supported by details from the text.

  16. What do you think? For weeks, Marco and Allison talked about getting a pet. Marco wanted a dog for protection, but Allison felt that cats made better companions. Marco argued that a dog was the best choice because he and Allison worked all day. The dog would bark if someone approached the house, which would help prevent a robbery.
