  1. Human Cell Line Authentication Service • What is it? • An in-house service provided by the Genomics Facility in the Leeds CRUK Centre. • Rapid and economical compared to commercially available services. • Staff available to discuss your individual requirements. • How does it work? • We take DNA extracted from cultured human cells and create a genetic profile using forensic markers. • We then compare the profile from the test sample to reference profiles from major cell banks and to online profile databases. • Why should you consider it? • Mis-identified and contaminated cells believed to account for 15-30% of cell lines in use. • Many journals and grant-awarding bodies now require evidence of cell line authentication. What we have found so far: Find out more: Contact Claire Taylor or Phil Chambers at the Leeds CRUK Centre Genomics Facility. medcft@leeds.ac.uk medpac@leeds.ac.uk data from 319 tests carried out to 10 Jan 2013
