  2. Open Enrollment • Once again it’s the time of year to make decisions about your: • health benefits • flexible reimbursement accounts (FRAs)

  3. Open Enrollment • April 16 – May 16, 2008 • Base your choices on what’s best for you and your family • Changes go into effect on July 1, 2008

  4. Your Choices • Take no action • Keep your current health plan and membership • But remember that current FRA participation will end

  5. Your Choices • Make changes to your health care • Enroll in or change your plan • Add or remove family members from your coverage

  6. Your Choices • Enroll in a Medical or Dependent Care FRA • It’s not automatic • Enroll each year in one or both accounts

  7. How to Prepare • Review the eligibility rules • Make decisions based on health plan premiums, benefits and out-of-pocket costs • Consider your tax savings with an FRA • Visit EmployeeDirect online to review your current elections and enroll or make changes

  8. Where’s Information? Spotlight newsletter • mailed to all employees at their home • on the Web at www.dhrm.virginia.gov • Your agency Benefits Administrator may also send it to you by e-mail

  9. What’s Coming in July Premiums • This year employees will receive an Employee Premium Increase Credit (EPIC) in order to offset increased health plan premium costs. • Applies to premiums effective July 1, 2008

  10. What’s Coming in July COVA Care • You pay a dental deductible before the plan pays for certain services • $50 per member and up to $150 per family • Preventive and orthodontic services still have no deductible • Expectant mothers have no inpatient hospital copayment if they enroll in the Future Moms prenatal program

What’s Coming in July COVA Care and COVA HDHP • Your annual maximum dental benefit increases to $2,000 • $800 more for basic dental • $500 more for expanded dental • Your orthodontic lifetime maximum benefit under expanded dental increases to $2,000 (or $800 more) • New member handbooks available before July 1

  12. What’s Coming in July Kaiser Permanente HMO • The plan will pay 100% for the cost of all preventive services • Diabetic supplies will be covered under the medical plan at 20 percent coinsurance, not under prescription drugs

  13. What’s Coming in July A Word on ID Cards • ID cards are issued when: • You first enroll in a plan or • Information on the card changes, such as your name • ID cards are not issued every year • ID cards are mailed to your home mailing address • Contact your Benefits Administrator with changes

Flexible Reimbursement Accounts • Put aside funds before taxes to pay for eligible medical and dependent care expenses • Enroll each year • Current FRAs end on June 30, 2008 • Contribute $10 or more each pay period • Set aside up to $5,000 for the plan year • Filing deadline is September 30, 2009 for reimbursement

  15. EZ Reimburse MasterCard • Easy and convenient way to be reimbursed for eligible medical, dental, vision and drug expenses • You may need to provide documentation for certain expenses

  16. EZ Reimburse MasterCard • Fill out an EZ REIMBURSE card enrollment form to receive a card or to continue to use your current one • Get a form at www.dhrm.virginia.govor from your Benefits Administrator • Fax to Fringe Benefits Management Company (FBMC)

  18. Moms-to-Be in COVA Care • Save $300 when you enroll in the Future Moms prenatal program • Enroll during the first trimester and complete the program • Deliver your baby on or after July 1, 2008 • The plan will waive the maternity hospital inpatient copayment • Call 1-800-828-5891 to enroll

  19. Weight Watchers • Lose weight and save money! • New pilot program for 2008 • Be reimbursed for half the cost of services when you are enrolled in a state health plan or you waived coverage • Learn more at www.dhrm.virginia.gov/weightwatchers.html
