  1. Welcome to CBEC An Introduction

  2. Planners • There is a page to write in all of their targets / levels from staff • The RRR charter and the Home College Contract should be signed by the end of the first week • Any detentions are written on the day they are due to be completed • Record homework • Stamps are recorded on a page per week in the planner

  3. Golden Rules • Behaviour – follow college expectations in every lesson • Arrive on time – make sure they get to every lesson on time! • Uniform – wear full college uniform at all times • Equipment – make sure they have all the equipment you will need in a lesson • Personal Best – work to the best of their ability throughout every lesson If a student breaks these rules they lose their stamp for the lesson and the number of the rule(s) they have broken will be written in the box in their planner for you as parents to see.

  4. What students need to do…. • Open their planner and place on their desk at the start of every lesson • In PDL each week record their attendance and number of minutes late in the boxes in their planner

  5. What will your teachers do? • Stamp every planner when students have met the 5 golden rules in the lesson • Enter stamp totals onto a spreadsheet each week • Progress Managers will check spreadsheets each week and follow up on any students getting too few stamps in a week • Progress Managers will issue rewards to students based on total stamps

  6. How to earn additional stamps These are for exceptional contributions or an additional effort to help in the life of the College. This may include: • Open Evening • Taster days • Accomplishments in clubs after school

  8. Role of the Tutor • To be a daily point of contact for students • To check and sign planners on a weekly basis • To record how many stamps the students has been awarded. • To check uniform daily • To maintain regular contact with parents • To deal with any arising issues in the first instance

Role of the Parent • To maintain contact with the college i.e. absences • To ensure your child is organised and prepared for each day • To check and sign planner weekly • To check homework and ensure it is completed • To make us aware immediately of any issues at home that may affect college. This should be done through the College Parent Partner initially, then the Tutor and if required the Progress Manager • To keep us updated with any changes in contact details

Role of the Student • To be prepared for every college day • To arrive on time to college and all lessons • To wear full correct uniform • To write all homework in planner • To show planner to their tutor and parents each week • To follow all college rules • To attend with a “can do” attitude every day, as they did on induction day.

  12. Objective • To produce an artifact that demonstrates the things that you really care about. Ideas about how you could present your work are given later in this powerpoint. • You can include one idea or up to a maximum of 4 ideas in your artifact.

  13. Ideas • A hobby you are involved in • A member of your family or pet • Your favourite holiday or holiday destination • An activity you do in your spare time, eg football, karate, swimming, cooking, camping or playing a musical instrument • Going to the cinema or theatre • Anything else that is really important to you

  14. How can you present this? • Powerpoint presentation • Poster • Leaflet • Art collage • Story • Video via Movie Maker • Any other imaginative way you can think of

  15. What can you include: • Photos, video clips, interviews, items of creative writing, artwork These are just some ideas to get you started! We want you to present your work in your own way. You are free to use any ICT packages that you want to.

  16. When you have finished ... Bring your work into school on the first day of term either • On memory stick • Hard copy • Email it to Mrs Clifforth, CPP: d.clifforth@cranbourne.hants.sch.uk There will be certificates for those students who have made a really good effort. Examples of your work will be displayed around the college and published on the college website!!!
