  5. Four Essential Questions An Curriculum Auditor Will Ask DESIGN • Is it there? (Curricular scope-coverage) • Is it any good? (Analysis of the curriculum documents on quality criteria) DELIVERY • Is it used? • Did it make a difference?

Curriculum Guide Analysis • 5 Criteria Used in PDK Audits: • Clarity and Specificity of Objectives • States for each objective the what, when (sequence within course/grade), how actual standard is performed, and amount of time to be spent learning. • Congruity of the Curriculum to the Assessment Process • Each objective is keyed to district and/or state performance assessments.

Curriculum Guide Analysis Cont. • Criteria Used by PDK • Delineation of the Prerequisite Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Attitudes • States specific documented prerequisite or description of discrete skills/concepts required prior to this learning (may be a scope and sequence across grades/course if PreK-12) • Delineation of the Major Instructional Tools • States for each objective the “match” between the basic text/instructional resource(s) and the curriculum objective
