  4. Nepal. The Himalayan Mountains. The Himalayan Mountain range stretches across five nations, sprinkling a hundred mountain peaks over China, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Bhutan. Caleb emerged from his tent early in the morning. It was a cool day in the mountains. He breathed in a lungful of air, and then another and stretched up to the sky. Lifting his eyes to the mountain slopes, Caleb Noble saw the ridges of snow he had left behind a few days earlier. “The abode of snow,” he stated. Himalaya is a Sanskrit name which means ‘the abode of snow’, and he liked the idea that there was a place where snow lived. Chapter 7
