  2. Pierre Corneille's background Pierre Corneille was born in Rouen,France on June 6 1606 to a family of lawyers. Pierre followed in his father's footsteps and became a lawyer.

  3. The play “Mélite” This was his first play and was very successful in Paris.Six of Pierre’s plays were comedies. These plays were good, but he also wrote tragedies.

  5. About his life Pierre Corneille was married in 1641 and had seven children with Marie . His first masterpiece was “le Cid”, which was based on an 11th Century Spanish hero.

  6. Death of Pierre Corneille Pierre Corneille died on October 1st at his house, in Paris in 1684.
