  1. “ I do not think it will be mistaken and it would be fairly easy to claim that Philippine education is in crisis. With the term in vogue, just about every society is faced with a crisis now. In our case, crises have been recurrent. Aside from the manifest leadership crisis that has plagued virtually every administration, much more the incumbent, we have experienced many other difficulties recently, such as the rice and oil price increase last year. At present, we are confronting a global financial crisis that has not insulated any nation from its ill-effects, from declining foreign direct investments to the consequent effects on employment generation. However, Philippine education is not in a crisis. The better description of the state of Philippine education is that it is in a chronic illness.” Br. Armin Luistro, FSC May 2009

  5. To do: • Continue advocacy work Fast track legislation on K plus 12. Fast track curriculum development of K plus 12. Fast track curriculum development (GE) and tertiary level curriculum development based on a 12 year cycle. Fully implement EGASTPE and expand ESC to grades 7 – 12 Immediate release of guidelines/mechanics of 2012 implementation of K to 12.

  6. NTEC to monitor pilot implementation of K • to 12 programs and communicate to CEAP • schools • Continue working with like-spirited groups • such as COCOPEA • Continue representing CEAP in TWGs and • Task Forces • Continue data-gathering initiatives
