Jon’s Material Installation • Tools needed: • Utility knife, pressure sensitive tape gloves, hard hat, safety glasses, mask • Stage of construction • Can install when exterior walls are done and sealed and when all mechanical piping is installed • Detail- Ceiling insulation over entire area extend insulation 48 inches up either side of partions and secure with cleats to structure • Face vapor barrier on heated side for exterior walls • Heights over 96 inches support unfaced mechanically and support faced by taping flanges of insulation to flanges • Two inches away from roof • Three inches from recessed light fixtures • Protect insulation with temporary covering if permanent construction is not installed immediately after • Insulation below grade use waterproofing • Preparation- clear anything harmful to insulation, anything that can puncture vapor barrier or interfere with insulation attachment • Physical Installation- Cut and fit insulation but only use single layer • Use mechanical anchorage for placement • Fasten blanket insulation between metal studs or framing with a continuous pressure sensitive tape along flanged edges
