NORC: Nurturing Our Retired Citizens • Mission: To Enable Older Adults to remain in their homes and in their community for as long as they can with the support they need to be healthy, safe and engaged citizens. • Vision: To create an environment that nurtures healthy aging and inspires residents of all ages to work toward that goal. What does the nurse do? • Blood pressure screening • Flu shots • Teach exercise class • Fill out medical forms • Attend doctor visits and translate information • Help with housing issues • Teach health prevention • Support and grief groups • Transportation • Organize volunteers • The nurse does NOT do any hands on nursing.
