  2. Who are we? • ScienceWorks is a fun, engaging science center where kids and adults can rediscover wonder. The innovative museum features interactive exhibits, an outdoor garden, live science shows and dynamic programs year-round. • We strive to inspire wonder and stimulate creative exploration through fun interactive science and the arts.

  3. What do we offer to the community? • Extensive Hands On Experiences • Science Camps • School Field Trips • Educational programs for students and teachers • Public programs including workshops, lectures, birthday parties and summer festivals

  4. Extensive Hands On Experiences • Featuring interactive science exhibits, live demonstrations and performances • ScienceWorks is ideal for explorers of all ages. Exhibits touch on a multitude of fascinating phenomena; exploring energy, anatomy, chemistry, perception, motion, engineering and more.

  5. Current Hands On Exhibits • Black Bear Garden • Discovery Island: The Lagoon, Shipwreck Playhouse, Coconut Hollow, Crawlers Cove, Thatched Hut • A collection of over 30 exhibits from the Exploratorium in San Francisco. This exhibition covers various themes including magnetism, vision, optical illusions, and expectations.

  7. Science Camps • Spring Break Camps: Make, Observe, Design, Explore, and Learn about the science and art that is all around us. Eco-campers will Make an origami frog, Observe honey bees in Black Bear garden, Design an animal from recycled materials, Explore spirals in outer space and in a snail shell, and Learn to harness the power of the sun! • Summer Camps: Camps are offered for children ages 4 – 10 and specialty classes for older campers. With class size limited to 12 for younger students and 17 for older students, we offer an intimate, personalized setting. All camps are taught by highly qualified educators who bring expertise, experience and enthusiasm into a wide range of science and art explorations. Topics include forensic science, art, ecology, flight and more!

Field Trips • ScienceWorks offers a field trip experience for school groups like no other in southern Oregon • School Visit Program is designed to spark student interest in science, support instruction of content and process standards, and provide a fun, multi-sensory environment that encourages discussion and collaborative learning • School programs are offered Tuesday through Friday from 9:30am to noon. Afternoon sessions will also be available Tuesday - Thursday from 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm. • Each session can accommodate two classes of up to 35 students. (Large groups of up to 120 students can be accommodated with an altered schedule) • The cost is $5 per student, with a flat rate of $100 for classes under 20 students.

Conclusion • As of this year, ScienceWorks has served over 350,000 visitors and school children throughout Southern Oregon and Northern California and has nearly 1,700 Member families • ScienceWorks is committed to serving school children and teachers both through its on-site School Program and an Outreach Program entitled Illuminating Science Inquiry that supports teacher development
