  3. Key issues (2) • New EU, Schengen, visas • Diverse community (cultures, sexuality) • Active participation in defining research priorities & policies • Youth involvement • Sustained funding • Health service access (undocumented) • Shaping EU health policies

  4. What is done already • Activities scattered, limited to grass roots level, higher levels missing • Black people engaged in many countries • Some European countries provide treatment to undocumented migrants

  5. Recommendations I • Universal access to health care (ST) • Engage religious/beliefs & community leaders & groups • National AIDS committees must appoint representative black community delegates • Emphasise sexual health, not limit on HIV • Find ways to talk to our communities • Get better, culturally appropriate data

  6. Recommendations II • Black community must contribute to its research agenda • Move our agenda at higher levels • Capacity building, active participation (LT) • We need to recognise that home is where we live
