Twenty-four hours a day, 365 • days a year, HelpMate transports pharmaceuticals, lab specimens, equipment and • supplies, meals, medical records and radiology films back and forth between support • departments and nursing floors. (NYSE: CAH), • confirmed today that it has completed its previously announced acquisition of • the assets and certain liabilities of HelpMate Robotics, Inc. (OTC BB: HELP) of • Danbury, Connecticut, a developer and manufacturer of advanced mobile • robotics systems used primarily in hospitals, laboratories and other medical • settings. • Commercialization • With 70 HelpMate couriers in use today, both individually and in small fleets, Pyxis is committed to fully integrating the HelpMate system and patented technology with its leading line of automated pharmaceutical and medical-supply dispensing systems. • The firm was founded in 1984. During its early years, the company's focus was contract engineering and research and development for third parties, including NASA. In recent years, the company has focused on the development of commercial applications for autonomous robotic products. • The firm announced on January 10 2002, the installation of its 100,000th unit, a MEDSTATION® SN automated medication management system to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC) in Las Vegas. Pyxis and UMC will observe the installation of this milestone unit with a celebration at the UMC facility today.
