  2. Sa Tagalog- Grupo 1 Ang Loob ng Pilipino Utang na loob, lakas-loob, tibay ng loob, tining ng loob. Ano nga ba ang “loob?” Ang loob ng Pilipino ay maaaring isip, bait, damdam, alaala, bolisyon. Malalim at malawak ang konsepto ng loob sa kulturang Pilipino. Hindi ito nakikita sapagkat nasa loob subalit naaapuhap ng kapwa Pilipino.

  3. Sa Ingles- Grupo 1 The Inner Pilipino Debt of gratitude, inner strength, fortitude, clarity. What is “loob?” The “loob” (literally inside) of the Filipino can be thinking, maturity, feeling, memory, volition. The concept of loob has a deep and extensive meaning in Philippine culture. One cannot see this but can be apprehended by Filipinos who share the same culture.

  7. Sa Tagalog- Grupo 2 Ang looban ay nangangahulugan ng komunidad, o di kaya’y nakawan. Ang niloloob ay maaaring pag-ibig o pagkamuhi, inggit o ang nais. Sa pagkatao, ang mga dalumat na kaugnay nito ay kababaang-loob, kabutihang-loob, kagandahang loob, may kusang-loob, payapang loob, mapagkaloob, tapat na kalooban.

  8. Sa Ingles- Grupo 2 “Looban” with the suffix -an denotes a community, or robbery. “Niloloob” can mean love or hatred, jealousy or one’s desire. In Filipino personhood, the concepts that are realated to “loob” are humility (low inside), kindness (good inside), generosity (beautiful loob), has initiative (loob that does his/her work without prodding), peaceful (calm inside), generous (prone to giving), sincere (honest loob).

  12. Sa Tagalog- Grupo 3 Ang manloloob ay isang taong magnanakaw. Ang masasamang-loob ay mga kriminal. May mahina ang loob, may malakas ang loob, malamig ang loob, maluwag sa loob mabigat ang loob, pampalubag-loob, wala sa loob, kagaanang-loob, kapalagayang loob, lagay ng loob. Ang pikit ang loob ay taong walang pakundangan sa katarungan.

Those with bad loob are criminals. “Mahina ang loob” are faint of hearted. “Malakas ang loob” are brave, courageous. “Malamig ang loob” which is literally “cold inside” is indifferent. “Maluwag sa loob” which translates to “wide on the inside” means willing. “Mabigat ang loob” which literally means “heavy inside” signifies unwillingly or sad, heavy-hearted. On the otherhand, “pampalubag-loob,” means consolation. “Lubag” means calmness. “Wala sa loob” means unintentional, nonchalance, unconcerned. “Kagaanang-loob” is lightness of feeling, hence a feeling of “good vibes” toward a person whom one has met for the first time. “Kapalagayang loob” is a confidante, a person who shares one’s intimate thoughts. “Lagay ng loob” means mood, state of mind or feeling. A person who has pikit ang loob (literally shut loob like the eyes) is a person who has no respect or is blind to justice.

  17. Sa Tagalog- Grupo 4 Samakatwid, ang loob, ay ang buod ng pagkatao o humanidad ng isang Pilipino kung kaya kapag nakikiusap o nasa kagipitan ang isang tao, ang bukambibig nito ay “utang na loob, pakawalan ninyo kami.”

Sa Ingles- Grupo 4 Therefore, loob is the core of Filipino personhood or humanity that is why when one is in grave danger when pleading, what he or she utters is “utang na loob, pakawalan ninyo kami” or “utang na loob, tulungan n’yo kami.” (By the debt of gratitude to your own humanity, realease us; or help us.)

  22. Sa Tagalog- Grupo 5 Kanino nakikingutang ng loob? Sa loob o pakatao ng nang-aapi o nanggigipit na kung may nalalabi pang hibla ng dangal ng pagkatao o humanidad sa kanya ay kikilanlin ang pagkatao o humanidad din ng taong ginigipit. Ang utang na loob sa gayon ay isang halagahin na kumikilos upang kilalanin, igalang, payabungin, at sa ibang pagkakataon ay ipagsanggalang ang ubod ng dignidad ng bawat tao.

  23. Sa Ingles- Grupo 5 To whom does one owe a debt of gratitude? To the core or humanity of the oppressor or exploiter that if there is a strand of dignity of humanity left in him or her, he or she would recognize the dignity of humanity in the person he is oppressing. Therefore, “utang na loob” is a value that moves one to recognize, respect, nourish and in some instance, defend, protect the core of dignity in each person.

Aktibidad! -Each group will be given a “loob.” -The group will then draw on a mask that represents their “loob” and present it to the class. -The class will try to guess which “loob” is being presented by the mask’s drawing and how the group interacts. -Remember: Don’t say the name of the “loob” you are presenting!
