  2. Fun Facts! . In the winter Native Americans wore moccasins and snowshoes under them to make it easier to walk through snow.

  3. Fun Facts! • Native Americans wore moccasins for walking and above their snowshoes.

  4. Fun Facts! .There were NO horses in North America until the Europeans arrived.

  5. Fun Facts! .Native Americans used bark from elm and spruce trees to make canoes.

  6. Fun Facts! • Bullboats are made out of sticks and the bulls fur.

  7. Fun Facts! • Dugout canoes were huge they were carved from cedar trees. They were also heavy.

  8. Fun Facts! • The Birch Bark canoes were lighter than the Dugout canoes. They also were sturdy and waterproof.

  9. Vocabulary • Moccasins – shoes • bullboats - small craft made to get down a stream or river • Dugout canoes – Hollow tree trunk formed into a canoe • Birch Bark canoes – birch tree bark made into a canoe
