  2. From Phil & Marlene • As usual, we have kept very busy, with interests ranging from health to computers. • Here we are in May, eating out after an all day training session in Irvine. • Note next these news items from this year: • Our “Kids” • Home & Garden • Work & Play

  3. Amy, Roger, Nathan and Alyssa Joy • Roger and Amy continue mission work on Chuuk, their island paradise, bringing the gospel to the islanders and building up their school. They took time in between all their work to have a new baby, July 1, 2005. Welcome Alyssa. We love you even though you are so far away! We know your big Brother, Nathan (2 years old in July) loves helping take care of you!

  4. Bryan, Elizabeth, Tiffany & Grant in Washington State • This August we visited Bryan and his family. This photo is their family, including Bridget their beagle. We can hardly believe Tiffany is already 10 and Grant is 6. It was fun to be with them and get to enjoy first hand the kid’s musical accomplishments and other activities. We especially enjoyed our outings into nature. Thanks Elizabeth & Bryan. We wish we lived closer! What a Beautiful Spot! • The final photo is all of us on a hike partway up Mt. Adams.

  5. The Siegels • We are happy that Helen, Scott, Gareth and Brenden Allen live near enough for visits! Highlights of our year have been when 3-year old Gareth sleeps over. We love taking him to the zoo or wild animal park. He´s also very happy to be big brother to Brenden, who was born September 20, 2005. • Welcome sweetheart.

  6. Gloria • Gloria continues working as an artist at the School of Hope and in her career as an educator. She taught art classes this summer for the Redlands Art Association. This year she completed a large art commission for a local group called Crosswalk.   7. Home & Garden • This year we expanded our home with a new sun room by Sun Boss. Really a great addition. Even serves as guest room. • You are welcome to stay with us. Shots of the sun porch in panoramic view from right to left.

  8. Home & Garden We worked hard in our garden. Here are some of our crops.

  9. Phil loves working on his computers. He has taken a great interest this year in GPS programs and gadgets. He continues searching and sharing up-to-date health information in health nuggets at our church. • He has become a skilled, and prolific photographer. His most recent digital camera is a Casio EXILIM. • Here are some shots of Phil taken this year and a nice shot of a passion flower he took.

  10. Fun & Service • We love to visit San Diego, especially Coronado Island (here we are on a tandem bike). This year we also visited Las Vegas. Can you believe it! What can two non-gambling, non-drinking, non-smoking people do there? We had fun. • This year we helped with a cooking school at our church in Mentone, CA. Here are some shots of us at work.

  11. Marlene • Marlene had a productive and satisfying year in her work for the Department of Public Health, Black Infant Health project. Here is Marlene at one of the two events she helped coordinate this year. • Marlene continues painting and making beautiful dream catchers. You can check some of her art on our website philandmarlene.com. This was a puzzle for Nathan. • Marlene enjoys singing with a classical chorale. Here is a photo of the group and another of Marlene singing a solo, “Climb Every Mountain” at the Valentine’s Day Concert.

  12. Personal Health • Thank you to all of you who prayed for Marlene. It was not easy going through breast cancer and mastectomy. God blessed in that she did not have to have chemotherapy or radiation. • Here she is the day of surgery. Gareth stayed the night before and we dropped him off on the way to the hospital. • Here she is 18 days after the surgery with Baby Brenden - after participating in his home birth. He was 2 hours old here.

  13. May You Be Specially Blessed This Christmas • Trouble may come to us during the year, but one strong, very wonderful truth persists, “God loved the World so much that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. • This truth helps us endure.
