  4. 3. Review and Renew: Set Targets and Benchmarks Review your performance Be open about Money and Politics 4. Invest in Journalism Provide training, respect employment rights, create an ethical environment

  5. And finally…. 5. Respect the Audience Moderate all user generated content and don’t put clicks before content 6. Collaborate and Innovate Work with other media to define common standards: safety, self-regulation, monitoring of content

Action Plan for Media Reform and Independent Journalism • Launch debates among journalists, editors, owners and with civil society • Promote self-regulation at enterprise and national level • Investigate and publish information on the state of media • Focus on transparency: ownership and media relations with politics

  7. Organise training and awareness-raising sessions on ethical journalism • Limit the use of law and, above all, ensure no political hands involved in the process of regulation of journalism • Promote regional co-operation: respect national goals but no compromise on fundamental right to act according to conscience and respect core values
