  2. The cybernetic age has contributed an enormous amount to the procedure of taking depositions. A wide variety of electronic recording devices and procedures are now available to attorneys that were not available to their counterparts in days gone by. Perhaps the most widely used electronic recording device today is the video recorder. Attorneys are currently becoming more acquainted with the advantages of videotaping decisions. Bu there are certain requirements for a videotaped deposition which must be adhered to, few are:

  4. The witness should have the file organized before deposition so there is no wastage of time going through the file and the witness should be advised to look into the camera as though speaking to the jury.

  5. Exhibits such as models, diagrams and charts should be prearranged and set up so they can be used appropriately.

  6. The attorney should have the witness sworn at the beginning of the deposition. Moreover, stipulations regarding the deposition should be placed on the written record before the video begins.

  7. The court reporter for the deposition should be placed so that testimony can be easily heard.
