  2. Objectives • Students will be able to determine the causes for the Reformation • Students will be able to summarize in writing the definition of Reformation. • Students will be able to summarize Luther’s 95 theses. • Students will be able to orally defend or argue against Luther’s 95 theses

Show Me • Which is a reason why the Reformation started? • The Pope was spending a lot of money on helping people and not on projects and Church buildings • Many clergy members focused helping others and not on gaining wealth • The Pope had discovered texts that revealed a more compassionate and sacrificial church leaders. • The Printing Press allowed more people to read the Bible and determine what God was saying.
